Sintered silicon carbide

Sintered silicon carbide also named Pressureless sintered silicon carbide(SSIC) is a kind of material that is sintered from highly purified submicron silicon carbide powder between 2100 ℃ to 2200 ℃ . SSIC is a good material for making mechanical seals, automotive components, armors, heat ex-change tubes, blast nozzles, wear parts, wafer carriers, etc.
It is composed of fine grains formed by highly pure silicon carbide, therefore it has high hardness, strength and excellent wear resistance. SSIC is known as the best corrosion resistant material among all industrial ceramics. More advantages include low density(40% of steel), low coefficient of thermal expansion, high thermal conductivity and high thermal shock resistance. These properties allow SSIC to be used for a long time in an oxidizing atmosphere at 1650 ℃ . SSIC is a good material for making mechanical seals, automotive components, armors, heat ex-change tubes, blast nozzles, wear parts, wafer carriers, etc.
