Products Description

Alumina ceramic dry grinding balls are spherical high-density ceramics (Al ₂ O ∝ ≥ 92%, 95% or 99%) optimized for dry grinding systems. Unlike wet grinding balls, they have a denser crystal structure and stronger impact resistance, capable of withstanding strong friction and heat from dry grinding (up to 1000 ° C). The Mohs hardness is 9, and the bulk density is ≥ 3.60 g/cm ³, which can balance grinding ability and durability. These balls have a size of 10-90mm and are suitable for various dry grinding equipment ranging from ball mills to vibration mills.

Advantages

1. Excellent wear resistance and heat resistance
The wear rate of alumina ceramic dry grinding balls is as low as 0.008%/24h, which is 80% lower than that of steel balls, even at extreme high temperatures during dry grinding. Its high temperature stability (up to 1200 ° C) can prevent softening or cracking, allowing shape and performance to be maintained for a longer period of time.
2. Zero pollution and high purity
It's has chemical inertness, which can prevent metal ion leaching, which is crucial for electronics, pharmaceuticals, and high-purity ceramics. Unlike steel balls, they do not change color or react with the material, ensuring the purity of the final product. In the processing of lithium battery materials, they can prevent iron contamination and maintain electrochemical performance.
3. Energy and Cost Efficiency
At half the steel density, these balls reduce the rolling mill load by 50% and power consumption by 15-20%. Their long lifespan (3-5 years, while steel has a lifespan of 6-12 months) reduces maintenance and downtime costs. Although the initial cost exceeds that of steel, the overall cost of ownership decreases by 30-40% annually.
4. Improve grinding efficiency
High density (≥ 3.60 g/cm ³) and spherical shape optimize impact and wear, achieving finer particle sizes (D97 ≤ 2 μ m) faster than natural stone or steel. Its smooth surface can reduce material accumulation, ensure consistent grinding, and prevent excessive processing.

Why choose our HUAO's alumina ceramic dry grinding ball?

1. Selection of high-quality raw materials
We only use high-purity alumina powder (Al ₂ O ∝ ≥ 92%, 95%, 99%), low iron (<0.1%) and Na content to ensure excellent purity and performance. Each batch of products undergoes rigorous chemical analysis and meets ISO standards.
2. Advanced production technology
Our alumina ceramic balls are produced through isostatic pressing (uniform density) and high-temperature sintering at 1700 ° C (durable crystal structure). This eliminates internal defects, ensuring high strength and low wear.
3. Strict quality control
Each ball needs to undergo more than 10 inspections: dimensional accuracy, hardness, density, wear resistance, etc.
4. Customization and technical support
Customized size (10-90mm), alumina purity (92-99%), and ball grading under specific dry grinding conditions.

FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between alumina ceramic dry grinding balls and wet grinding balls?
A1: Alumina ceramic dry grinding balls have a denser structure, higher impact resistance, and lower water absorption rate (≤ 0.01%), which can withstand the heat and friction of dry grinding. Wet balls may rupture or wear out faster in dry environments.
Q2: How long is the service life compared to steel balls?
A2: In standard dry grinding, our balls can last for 3-5 years, while steel balls can last for 6-12 months, extending the time by 5-8 times. The lifespan of high impact areas is extended by 3-5 times.
Q3: Can these balls be used in intermittent and continuous mills?
A3: Yes, it is. Alumina ceramic dry grinding balls perform well in both intermittent (vibration, planetary) and continuous (ball, tube) dry grinding machines.
Q4: What size ball should I choose for my grinder?
A4: Match the ball diameter with the feed size: coarse feed is 20-50mm (5-20mm), fine feed is 10-20mm (<5mm). The combination of sizes (60% large, 40% small) can improve efficiency.
