Production Process Of Sintered Tabular Alumina

In the process of producing sintered tabular alumina, the key is to use rapid ultra-high temperature sintering technology without adding any additives. This unique production process, combined with good equipment conditions, enables the product to have excellent performance.
1) Ball milling
By continuously grinding high-quality alumina powder to achieve a specific fineness, it is helpful for subsequent sintering processes.
2) Forming
After fine grinding, the alumina powder is processed through a ball forming disc to form a certain strength of green balls. This step is crucial because the strength of the billet directly affects the smooth progress of subsequent processes. Through careful process optimization design, we have successfully solved the technical problems that have long plagued the industry, such as high moisture content, easy layering, and difficult drying of semi-finished balls.
3) Dry
The formed green balls are sent to a dryer for moisture removal. This process requires precise temperature control to prevent cracks and delamination inside the billet, as well as to avoid problems such as agglomeration and furnace blockage. The existence of these problems will cause the ball flow to be obstructed, thereby affecting the quality of drying.
4) Sintering
The dried green balls are sent to a vertical kiln for high-temperature sintering. The sintering temperature is maintained at about 1900 ℃, and the ratio of liquefied petroleum gas to air is finely adjusted to ensure the full development of the plate-like corundum structure. After sintering, the green balls undergo a series of post-treatment processes, including cooling, strict quality inspection, crushing, and screening, to ultimately obtain finished products with different particle sizes. These finished products need to undergo strict inspections on multiple indicators such as particle volume density, apparent porosity, and water absorption to ensure product quality.
