Aluminum Beads are superior to natural pebbles and conventional grinding media and is the best option for grinding processing in many industries because to its high density, regular shape, ease of sorting, high crushing efficiency, and low cost.
The extrusion method to form alumina ceramic balls is currently the lowest grade among similar ceramic balls, but it is also the most productive forming method. It is generally used to form ceramic balls below medium aluminum or clay balls. This kind of porcelain balls has a low sintering temperature, simple production equipment, and low investment. It only requires a ball mill, a filter press, a vacuum mud machine, and a lower-temperature kiln to produce it. The forming method is to use a vacuum mud machine or hydraulic extruder to extrude mud strips, cut the spherical stones into different mud segments according to different specifications, and then manually or mechanically knead them into spherical shapes, and then dry them to obtain spherical greens.
Dry isostatic pressing of alumina ceramic balls is the most advanced forming method at present. It is easy to realize automated production and is less affected by human factors. The consistency of the shape and appearance of the green body is better than that of wet bag cold isostatic pressing. Generally, a pressing cycle from the beginning of pressurization to the end of pressure relief is within one minute. During pressure relief, the gas inside the green body must be discharged in a short time. If the moisture content of the powder is uneven or the granulation size is inappropriate, the green body will be damaged. They are all prone to cracking or even pulverizing and exploding. Therefore, using this method to form powders has high requirements on the forming performance and requires spray granulation of powders.
