Wear resistant ceramic coating (epoxy resin adhesive coating) has excellent wear resistance and is widely used in material protection and parts repair, such as parts scratches, casting defects, external cracks, part wear, and part leakage. Because the repair work is simple and economical and feasible, this process method has been paid more and more attention by people.

What are the factors that affect the wear resistance of wear-resistant ceramic coatings?

1. The amount of powder added:

The abrasion resistance of the coating is mainly alumina ceramic powder. When the powder is added in a small amount, there are fewer fulcrums to withstand abrasion, and the coating cannot be effectively protected. With the increase in the amount of powder added, the area of the ceramic subject to wear increases, the coating is protected, and the weight loss due to wear is reduced. When the powder content increases to a certain amount, the amount of wear reaches a fairly small level. When the powder exceeds a certain amount, the adhesion of the adhesive to the ceramic powder is not sufficient. When subjected to frictional force, due to insufficient shear strength, some ceramic powders fall off the whole grain, so they can not play the role of anti-wear, and the weight loss is severe. Increased, the wear resistance of the coating decreases.

 2. The influence of powder particle size on wear resistance

When the powder particles are small, the contact area between the particles and the adhesive is small, and the bonding force is not large enough. The particles are easy to fall off during the wear process. As the powder particles increase, the bonding area increases, the bonding surface separates, and the adhesive deforms and cracks. The tendency is small. When the particle size of the powder reaches a certain amount, the amount of abrasion gradually decreases. Over a certain size, bonding defects such as increased pores will decrease the bonding force. During the wear process, large ceramic particles will fall off, and the amount of wear will increase drastically. The exposed adhesive layer will not be protected and will be worn out. Therefore, ceramic particles will also have a great impact on the wear resistance, too large or small is not appropriate.
