Calcined alumina is processed by high temperature calcination above 1450 ℃ to convert gamma crystal form into alpha crystal form. Generally, the conversion rate of alpha alumina is above 95%. The higher the alpha conversion rate, the more complete the calcination and the higher the calcination temperature. The calcined alumina needs to be finely ground to reach the level of micro powder for use as raw materials in ceramics or refractory materials. The processing equipment for calcined alumina micro powder and high-temperature calcined alumina mainly includes the following types of equipment.

1. The ball mill is the most economical and simple way to process calcined alumina, with simple and flexible operation and low production costs. However, there are significant difficulties in processing fine products.

2. Mechanical grinding: It is also a common processing method, mainly producing high-end ultrafine powder products.

3. Airflow mill: It is an ideal equipment for processing fine product raw materials. The disadvantages are high energy consumption, low output, high production costs, and high equipment prices.

4. Other wind selection equipment for processing calcined alumina powder has disadvantages such as significant processing costs. At present, domestic alumina manufacturers mainly use ball mills to grind and calcine alumina.
