I. Brief Introduction
Cast stone is a processed silicate crystalline non-metallic industrial material. It takes natural rocks (basic rocks such as basalt and diabase) or industrial waste residues as main raw materials, and is manufactured through batching, melting, casting, heat treatment and other processes. It features neatly arranged crystals, hard and fine texture.
Cast stone boasts excellent corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance.
Main cast stone products include cast stone pipes, cast stone composite pipes, cast stone slabs and cast stone powder. They are widely applied to severely worn and corroded parts in power, coal, mining, metallurgy, chemical, construction and other industrial sectors. The service life of components and equipment lined with cast stone can be extended to more than ten times, even dozens of times that of parts made of other materials.
Cast stone products have low toughness and high hardness, making them difficult to cut and machine. Therefore, they are generally fabricated into finished products with fixed shapes and dimensions, and installed by masonry and embedding methods.
II. Core Advantages
Superior Wear Resistance
With a Mohs hardness of 7–8, its abrasion resistance is 20–30 times that of ordinary carbon steel and 5–10 times that of high manganese steel. It suffers minimal wear when conveying ore slurry and ash slag, greatly extending service life.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance
Resistant to most acids, alkalis and salts within a pH range of 1–14. It is only incompatible with hydrofluoric acid and hot concentrated phosphoric acid, perfectly suited for wet metallurgy and chemical working conditions with corrosive slurry.
Smooth Scale-Free Inner Wall
The dense, glossy cast stone lining creates low flow resistance for conveyed materials, preventing ash buildup and pipe blockages while cutting energy consumption for transportation.
Stable Temperature Resistance
Continuous operating temperature ranges from -40℃ to 280℃. Its low thermal expansion coefficient prevents cracking or peeling under alternating hot and cold conditions.
High Cost Performance
Though its upfront purchase cost is slightly higher than steel pipes, minimal maintenance and replacement requirements lead to much lower long-term operation and maintenance costs.
