2.Hot pressing
Hot pressing sintering is to apply unidirectional pressure to the sample at high temperature to promote the ceramic to reach full density.Compared with conventional sintering, sintering at 15MPa reduced sintering temperature of ceramics by 200℃ and increased density by 2%, and this trend increased with the increase of pressure.For pure alumina ceramics, the temperature above 1800℃ is required for conventional sintering.The hot pressing of 20MPa only needs 1500℃.
