Since the melting point of alumina is as high as 2050 ℃,the sintering temperature of alumina ceramics is generally higher,which limits its production and a larger number of applications to a certain extent.Therefore,reducing the sintering temperature of alumina ceramics has always been an important issue that companies are concerned about and urgently need to solve.
The current low-temperature sintering techniques of various alumina ceramics can be summarized mainly by taking measures from three aspects:Raw material processing,formula design and firing process.
Reduce the sintering temperature by reducing the particle size of the alumina powder and increasing the powder activity
The powder has a high surface free energy.This surface energy of the powder is the inherent power of its sintering.Therefore,the finer the particles of Al2O3 powder,the higher the degree of activation,the easier the powder is to sinter,and the lower the sintering temperature.In the low-temperature sintering technology of alumina ceramics,the use of highly active easily sintered alumina powder as a raw material is one of the important means,so the powder preparation technology has become a basic link in the ceramic low-temperature sintering technology.
