Aluminum oxide ceramic is a ceramic material mainly composed of aluminum oxide (AL2O3).
Transparent ceramics are ceramics with transparent properties obtained by using high-purity and ultrafine ceramic raw materials and eliminating pores through technological means.

 

Different ingredients and classifications

 

Alumina ceramics are divided into two types: high-purity and ordinary.
High purity alumina ceramic materials with AL2O3 content of over 99.9%, due to their high sintering temperature of 1650-1990 ℃ and transmission wavelength of 1-6um, are generally made into molten glass to replace platinum crucibles; Using its translucency and alkali metal corrosion resistance as a sodium lamp tube; It can be used as an integrated circuit substrate and high-frequency insulation material in the electronics industry.
Ordinary alumina ceramic series are divided into 99 ceramic, 95 ceramic, 90 ceramic, 85 ceramic and other varieties according to the AL2O3 content. Sometimes, those with AL2O3 content of 80% or 75% are also classified as first-class alumina ceramic series. 99% alumina ceramic material is used to make high-temperature crucibles, refractory furnace tubes, and special wear-resistant materials such as ceramic bearings, ceramic seals, and water valve plates; 95 alumina ceramics are mainly used as corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant components; Due to the frequent addition of some talc in 85 porcelain, its electrical properties and mechanical strength are improved, and it can be sealed with metals such as molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, etc. Some are used as components in electric vacuum devices.
Transparent ceramics can be divided into aluminum oxide transparent ceramics, yttrium oxide transparent ceramics, magnesium oxide transparent ceramics, yttrium aluminum garnet transparent ceramics, aluminum magnesium acid transparent ceramics, transparent ferroelectric ceramics, aluminum nitride transparent ceramics, aluminum nitride transparent ceramics, magnesium aluminum spinel transparent ceramics, etc. according to their composition.

Different performance

Properties of alumina ceramics:
1. High hardness
According to the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, its Rockwell hardness is HRA80-90, second only to diamond and far exceeding the wear resistance of wear-resistant steel and stainless steel.
2. Excellent wear resistance. According to the Institute of Powder Metallurgy at Central South University, its wear resistance is equivalent to 266 times that of manganese steel and 171.5 times that of high precision cast iron. According to our customer tracking surveys over the past decade, under the same operating conditions, the service life of the equipment can be extended by at least ten times,
3. Lightweight
Its density is 3.5q/cm3, which is only half of steel and can greatly reduce equipment load,

Different applications

Transparent ceramics are mainly used in lighting fixtures, laser materials, infrared window materials, scintillation ceramics, electro-optical ceramics, and bulletproof materials.
