6. Microwave plasma sintering

Compared with conventional sintering, microwave plasma sintering can reduce the sintering temperature by 200℃ under the same conditions, and the sintering speed is fast, the grain size is small and the mechanical strength is high.One of the reasons that microwave plasma sintering promotes densification is the rapid heating, which reduces the grain growth caused by surface diffusion, and provides a strong driving force and a shorter journey for volume diffusion and grain boundary diffusion, thus reducing the sintering temperature of alumina ceramics and making the grains refined.
